BP Amsterdam Terminal is a state of the art import/export terminal for fuels. With more than 77 tanks and a total capacity of more than one million cubic meters, it is one of the largest refined-product terminals in the Netherlands and Europe.

BP Amsterdam Terminal has selected Qino to manage its equipment check/inspection process. Previously, due to the size of its tank farm, both the scheduling of the checks and the interpretation of the check results caused intensive labour and some issues. Brainum has introduced a complete new business process to overcome this:

- First of all, Qino schedules the checks automatically. The checks appear in the dashboard of the shift/operator and can be printed automatically
- The operator performs the inspection and registers the result on paper, by using an electronic pen
- After finishing the inspection, the data in the electronic pen is saved in a docking station and the results are automatically downloaded in Qino
- Any irregularities in the inspections create a notification in Qino automatically.

As a result, BP experiences now the following advantages:

- Checks and inspections are automated, mandatory and can not be ignored anymore
- Reduction of labour intensive manual filing and processing of documents
- The results of the checks are immediately stored electronically and can be retrieved through Qino easily (audits!)
-  Follow up actions must be created when any irregularities are found; actions not to be forgotten anymore.

All in all, BP has improved one of its key processes.
